Laidunbroilerit
Keväällä 2025 ryhdyimme kasvattamaan laitumella myös broilereita. Ihan niinkuin munintakanammekin, laidunbroilerille siirretään tuoreelle nurmelle 12-24 tunnin välein. Tämän lyhyen mutta intensiivisen laidunnuksen jälkeen laidun saa levätä vähintään 3 kuukautta ennen kuin palaamme samaan kohtaan. Tätä systeemiä varten olemme rakentaneet kaksi uutta liikuteltavaa kanalaa (hoop coop), joissa broilereilla on paljon tilaa liikkua ja ne ovat suojassa petoeläimiltä. Kasvatamme hitaimmin kasvavaa rotua mitä Suomessa on tällä hetkellä saatavilla. Teurastamme broilerit itse tilateurastamossamme vähentääksemme lintujen kokemaa stressiä.
Sen lisäksi mitä broilerit metsästävät laitumelta, syötämme niille soijatonta ja kalajauhotonta luonnollisesti tuotettua rehua, jossa on soijan tilalla suomalaista hamppua. Ruokavirasto ei anna meidän kertoa julkisesti miten rehumme on tuotettu. Tästä syystä löydät aina sivuiltamme kuvan kananmunasta, joka saattaa olla tai olla olematta paperin päällä, joka saatta sisältää tai olla sisältämättä tietoa rehumme tuotantomenetelmistä.
Laidunbroilereiden tuotanto ajoittuu vain laidunkaudelle (toukokuusta lokakuuhun), koska broilerit eivät voi olla ulkona talvella. Myymme siis broilereita tuoreina kesällä sekä pakastettuina ympäri vuoden. Laidunbroilerit myydään kokonaisina vakuumipakkauksissa ja niitä on saatavilla reko-torien kautta tai suoraan tilalta 3.6. eteenpäin.
Laidunbroilerit maksavat 17€/kg ja yksi lintu on noin 1,3-1,9 kg kokoinen.
Lisäksi myymme munintakanan lihaa (edellisen vuoden munintakanalaumasta) joka kevät.
Pasture raised broilers
Spring 2025 we started raising broilers on pasture. Just like our laying hens, we move our broilers to a fresh piece of pasture every 12 to 24 hours. After their short period of impact, the pasture gets rested for at least 3 months before being ‘grazed’ again. For this we have built adapted ‘hoopcoops’ in which the birds have plenty of space and are protected from predators. We raise the slowest growing breed of broiler that is currently available in Finland. The birds are slaughtered professionally by us in our own on-farm slaughter facility, avoiding the stress of transportation and industry scale slaughter.
Besides what they can forage themselves from the constantly refreshed pasture, we feed soy free, fish meal free, natural chicken feed that has Finnish hemp instead of soy. The Finnish Food Authority does not allow us to tell you how our feed has been produced. We believe in full transparency and want all of you to know what we feed our birds. That is why you will always find a picture of an egg that might or might not be placed on a piece of paper that might or might not contain information about the production method of the feed our chickens eat.
Our production period is limited from May till October, as we cannot be out on pasture the rest of the year. We sell these pasture raised birds fresh and frozen during the summer and frozen during the rest of the year. They are sold as whole birds only, available from the farm or selected REKO markets, as well as through our 2025 presales.
We also sell stewing hens (1,5 year old laying hens) each spring.
